Xingyan Chen is currently a Ph.D. student in sociology at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He holds an MA in development studies from the China Agricultural University. His research primarily focuses on China including rural development, land issues, labor migration, and labor protests. His recent research connects laid-off labor protest to land revenue regime in China.
