Pastoralism is a “time-honored” production strategy that makes use of scarce resources and unproductive natural environments, which makes it a viable approach to meet current issues in food systems. However, it continues to be barely mentioned in policy circles and food production discourses, despite being practiced by numerous communities across the world.
