Bosman Batubara is an Indonesian postdoctoral researcher at Human Geography and Spatial Planning Department, University of Utrecht. He defended his PhD thesis entitled “Floods in (post-) New Order Jakarta: A political ecology of urbanization” at Human Geography, Planning, and International Development Department, University of Amsterdam and Water Governance Department at IHE-Delft Institute for Water Education (thesis: here). He holds bachelor in geological engineering from Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia, and master in water resources engineering from VU Brussels and KU Leuven, Belgium. His interests are, among others, uneven relations of capitalist urbanization within and beyond the city, in horizontal and vertical directions, involving human and non-human, above and below ground (his Google Scholar: here).
