Who is Who in CASAS? Mariana Reinach

My name is Mariana Homem de Mello Reinach, I’m a brazilian social scientist graduated from the University of São Paulo (USP), and a PhD student in the Graduate Program of Social Sciences in Development, Agriculture and Society, at the Rural Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (CPDA/UFRRJ), where I also got my masters degree. I am a researcher at the Center of Power Studies (NEP/CPDA), working on social ecology, neoextrativism, ethnology, insurgent identities and struggles for land, territory, autonomy and recognition of indigenous and traditional communities.

Since 2012 I’ve been working with indigenous lands monitoring, quilombola territories regularization, agroecological, rural and indigenous movements and research consultancies for civil society organizations.

Carol Hernandez holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Portland State University, U.S., and is a professor/researcher at the University Program of Bioethics, National Autonomous University of Mexico. Her areas of interest focus on agriculture and climate change, seed sovereignty, and indigenous social movements.
