Within the framework of ICARRD+20, the academics and scholar-activists that participated in the Land, Life and Society Academic Coference developed the Cartagena Declaration.
CASAS’ members participated in the writing of the Cartagena Declaration with representatives of other universities, research institutions and organizations from across the world.
The declaration is a call for systemic transformation around land rights and support for social movements engaged in struggle, foucsing of the 4Rs: Recognition, Redistribution, Restitution, and Regulation. It also affirms a commitment to co-produced research that advances understanding of rural lives. Read the declartion in full below.
